Here are my top 5 products for getting the most out of your Linen.
1 | For me it all starts with the laundry Liquid. Its got to be natural, no nasties. A chemical Free Laundry detergent will protect the Linens natural fibres + it smells divine We have a couple of different liquids and also the traditional French soap flakes.
2 | Stains, no matter how careful we are...we all end up with them sometime, coffee, makeup or pen - Don't Ever use Bleach or any other chemical stain removers on Linen ( not even White ) I recommend using a good old fashioned soap bar and some elbow grease. One little tip - any Natural soap bar will work - My absolute favourite it the Bondi Wash body bar - works a treat on getting stains out of Linen.
3 | Drying you Linen - I don't ever put my linen in the dryer, nothing beats the smell of fresh Linen. In the Winter I drape it over my wooden clothes drying rack. Its not recommend to use a tumble dryer as overtime it can damage the fibre, if you need to, use a low heat and delicate setting.
To minimize creasing, remove while it is still slightly damp.
4 | Linen Water - A Must! It makes ironing a tad more of a pleasurable experience and the pure scent of chamomile and lavender instantly refreshes your textiles, leaving them with that 'just laundered and sun dried' feel. Spray on your sheets and pillowcases as you make the bed for a great nights sleep.
5 | Storing your linen when its not in use is really important, place linens in a dry, dark location such as a drawer or cupboard to prevent yellowing always store in a linen wash bag, or wrapped in acid free paper. Do not use a plastic bag as that can cause mildew by trapping in moisture.
