There is a particular quality of stillness that arrives when a room is finally, quietly right. The Addi cushion belongs to that moment. Hand-loomed by artisans in India on traditional looms, its bold check is not printed or pressed — it is built, thread by thread, from hand-spun wool and tussar silk. The result is a surface that holds depth: the wool grounds it in warmth, the silk lifts it with a soft, uneven lustre that no machine can replicate.

Tussar silk is a wild silk — harvested from cocoons found in the forests of India rather than cultivated on racks. Its texture is inherently irregular, its sheen more muted and natural than commercial silk, and it only becomes more beautiful with time. As the fabric relaxes and softens with use, the patina deepens. This is not a cushion that ages — it settles.

Finished with a plain cotton reverse and filled with a plush RDS-certified feather insert, the Addi sits with quiet authority on a linen sofa, a reading chair, or layered across a made bed. In chalk and oatmeal, it holds the palette of undyed things — bone, raw fleece, morning light on stone.

Care Instructions

• Dry clean recommended to preserve the integrity of the hand-spun fibres and silk lustre
• If hand washing, use cold water with a gentle wool wash — do not wring or tumble dry
• Lay flat to dry in shade; avoid prolonged direct sunlight to protect natural dye tones
• Store folded in a breathable cotton bag away from moisture
