Bronze is the warm, burnished gold-brown that sits between amber and copper — the colour of late afternoon light on metal, of aged wood and warm stone. In this throw, it arrives in a bold check design hand-loomed by artisans in India using traditional looms and hand-spun wool and tussar silk. The tussar silk is the element that makes this throw different from a wool throw: it gives the surface a natural lustre that shifts in different light, and an uneven texture that is the direct result of the hand-spinning process — no two threads are identical, and the slight variation in thickness is what gives the cloth its depth and character. The wool provides warmth and structure; the silk provides sheen and softness. Together they produce a throw that improves over time as the fabric relaxes and softens with use.
