Cream is a colour that earns its place in any room it enters. Not white — warmer than that, with the particular softness of unbleached wool and pale vanilla. It is a tone that works with everything and competes with nothing: against natural linen it reads as warmth; against deeper tones it reads as light; against white it reads as the more considered choice. In a brushed wool throw, it becomes something you reach for without thinking.

The Hyde is woven from a luxe yarn with a plush, lightly brushed finish that gives it a soft, voluminous hand — substantial without being heavy, warm without being stifling. At 130 x 200cm it is a generous proportion, suited to draping across a sofa, folding at the end of a bed, or pulling over your knees on a cooler evening. Designed in our Auckland studio and made in New Zealand.

Equally at home indoors or out — over your knees at an alfresco dinner, or as a generous picnic blanket. Store indoors for longevity.

• Do not machine wash, tumble dry, or bleach
• Lay flat to dry — reshape while damp
• Store indoors — folded in a breathable cotton bag; use cedar to deter moths
