The base of the bed, considered.
A bed skirt is one of those details that goes entirely unnoticed when it is right — and announces itself immediately when it is wrong. The Sateen Bed Skirt in White gets it right. Crafted in Italy from 300 thread count extra long-staple cotton sateen, the skirt panel falls in special pleats that give the drop a structured, tailored quality — not the flat, utilitarian finish of a standard valance, but something with movement and depth, the kind of detail that makes a bed look as though it has been dressed rather than simply made. The sateen surface catches the light along each pleat, giving the white a luminous, almost architectural quality.
The construction is considered throughout: the top panel — the part that sits beneath the mattress — is made from cotton percale, a practical choice that holds its position without slipping. The skirt itself is the sateen: smooth, cool, and with the particular brightness that only long-staple cotton can produce. In White, it works with virtually every bedding palette — beneath linen, beneath sateen, beneath cotton — and at a 36–38 cm drop, it skims the floor with the right amount of presence. Available to custom make in 39 colours if White is not your register.
