Eucalypt is not a garden green or a forest green. It is the particular silvery, dusty green of gum leaves in dry heat — the colour of the Australian and New Zealand landscape at its most characteristic, most unhurried, most itself. It is a green that has grey in it, and blue, and the faintest suggestion of silver. In a room, it reads as nature without being literal about it.

The velvet face is woven from a cotton-rich blend that carries the colour with a softness and warmth that pure polyester cannot achieve — the pile slightly more relaxed, the surface slightly more matte, the whole thing feeling closer to the natural world the colour references. The reverse is natural cotton-linen: unprinted, textured, at rest. At 40 × 80cm, the lumbar format gives the cushion a horizontal presence that suits the back of a sofa or the foot of a bed with equal ease.

Finished with a plush feather insert. A cushion that carries the landscape of home into the interior, quietly and without announcement.

Care Instructions

• Spot clean preferred to preserve the velvet finish
• If machine washing, use cold water on a delicate cycle — cover only
• Do not tumble dry — air dry flat and brush gently in one direction to restore the pile
• Avoid prolonged direct sunlight to preserve the depth of colour
• Remove insert before washing cover
